The Central Indigenous Cooperative of Cauca (CENCOIC) is a coffee producers’ organization established in 1980. It serves as the commercial arm of the Indigenous Movement of Cauca (Cauca-CRIC Regional Indigenous Council) in Colombia. Promoting coffee at fair trade exhibitions has been one of its main activities, along with diversifying its income through other products. The continuous improvement in coffee quality is a part of the cooperative’s ongoing progress.
CENCOIC identifies coffee as its primary focus, with producer groups belonging to at least 24 indigenous reserves and various indigenous communities in the Cauca department, including those located in Caldono, Piendamó, El Tambo, Santander de Quilichao, Toribio, Jambalo, Inza, Buenos Aires, and Suarez.
